SEE Eyewear has just opened their newest location in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and I recently stopped in to learn more about the brand and see the new collection. I was somewhat familiar with the brand and have stopped into the boutique on Smith Street in Cobble Hill but hadn’t yet purchased anything. When the brand’s PR invited me to visit the new Williamsburg location I didn’t want to miss out. {Be sure to check out the end of this post for a special limited time promotion}
One of the best little facts I learned about the brand is that they only make 80-100 of each color / style that are then sold at their boutiques throughout the US. I love that you likely won’t bump into strangers on the street who have bought the same glasses as you. (Yes, things like this can easily happen in NYC) These small batches are due to the glasses being made in family owned factories around Europe and most are even hand made. Speaking of family, SEE Eyewear is a family founded and run company that has been designing and producing eyewear for 40 years. I love that even with their growth, they have been able to remain a family run business. You’ll even find vintage family photos around the boutiques which are so cute!
Just because these Sexy Specs are made in small batches, doesn’t mean they have a high price tag. In fact, SEE makes some of the most affordable yet special and high quality eyewear collections I have ever seen. Sunglasses are ALL just $99 and single vision eyeglasses range from $169 – $379. Most boutiques also have an on-site optometrist a few days a week so you can find out your prescription and then select your glasses all at once. Be sure to check availability and insurance coverage before going in but I found this to be extremely helpful and Dr. Kim who I met with at the Cobble Hill location was fantastic.

The brand was kind enough to gift me a pair of prescription glasses and I picked out the SUPER CUTE Havana in Blush. I absolutely love them. I’m also a sucker for red accessories (I got that from my bestie Minnie Mouse) and couldn’t leave without buying the below sunglasses, the PETTY SUN READER. They are the perfect sunglasses that also have a bottom lens for reading. a.k.a. perfect for poolside reading!
