This weekend, I partnered with Delta Air Lines and jetted to New Orleans for a little getaway to visit my friend Lauren. I’ve been to New Orleans several times and it has always been one of my favorite cities to visit. From the French Quarter, Uptown and the Garden District there are so many cute cafes and shops to explore. Before I get to my adventures in New Orleans, lets talk more about my journey. When I’m packing my carry-on for any trip, I think to myself, ‘What am I going to do on the flight?’ Do I feel like reading a book, need to catch up on work emails or should I take my mind off of work and watch a movie?
When I heard about Delta Air Line’s NEW & FREE In-Flight Entertainment, with a large database of movies and TV shows, I had my answer. The 2 ½ hour flight from NYC to New Orleans is the perfect amount of time to catch a film there and back. Delta has been one of my favorite airlines to fly for many years and I have been a SkyMiles member as long as I can remember. Before I left home, I downloaded the GoGo Entertainment app; which allowed me quick and easy access once I arrived on the plane. I loved seeing the new Delta campaign throughout the terminal and the café located right next to my gate was SO cute! I stopped in for breakfast before hopping on my flight. The cafe also have iPads for use while you wait for your flight to board. (but wasn’t part of Delta’s Free In-Flight Entertainment program)
The Delta Studio database was full of amazing options to fit any mood – drama’s, comedies, foreign films and animated favorites for kids and so easy to navigate. TV shows included a wide variety from travel, food centric and even some favorites from HBO and SHOWTIME. I loaded my GoGo Entertainment app library with some great GIRL POWER films featuring strong leading ladies from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and JOY to SIXTEEN CANDLES and THE NOTEBOOK. I was all set for both flights and then came the big decision as to what to watch first. The winner was WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.
For more instructions or to troubleshoot any issues with your device, there is a handy manual full of directions in your seat pocket. Whether you watch from your in-seat screen or personal device (iPad, iPhone and laptop computers all work great for this), it’s so easy to access.
I’m planning to fly Delta again in December when my boyfriend and I travel for the holidays. With so many movie options, it’s great to know I don’t have to worry about how to keep busy on our flights.
