One day last summer, I decided to pop into Laduree on Place de la Madeleine for a quiet and tasty afternoon tea and pastry. My St Honore Rose Framboise puff pastry with light rose petal cream, raspberry compote, fresh raspberries and rose water whipped cream was just heavenly. Every element from the pastry to the whipped cream was light as air and perfectly sweet and paired nicely with my Marie Antoinette tea. When finished, I popped upstairs to use the restroom and to my delight found the dining room and pastry station completely empty. I whipped out my camera and snapped a few photos. A rare treat to be up close in personal to all of the signature pastries without a display case in the way.
It was impossible to snap the macaroons without being in the reflection a tiny bit but I just had to. Who knows when I will be that close again.
If you can’t make it to Laduree, order one of their beautiful and sweet scented candles
